Juice Recipe: Tropikale

In the summer of 2013 after attending the Woodstock Fruit Festival I spent a week in NYC with some friends. It was one of the best holidays of my life! My friend Lee introduced me to a juice bar called Juice Press. They have loads of juices pre-made so it’s easy just to grab and go.

The first time I went there I chose their Tropizyme – Pineapple, Ginger & Wheatgrass. And that’s where I got the idea for Tropikale. I like wheatgrass but kale is my favourite green!

Ingredients (to make 16oz approx.)

Yield varies depending upon size of pineapple.

  • 1 pineapple
  • 2-3 oz kale
  • 1/2 oz ginger
  • Ingredients to make Tropical juice - ginger, kale and pineapple

  1. Wash the pineapple
  2. Roughly chop the skin off the pineapple
  3. Peel the ginger
  4. Chop the kale into sections
  5. Juice the ingredients together
  6. Sieve the juice for a smoother drink

Pineapples are my favourite fruit to juice on the Norwalk juicer. Just wash the pineapple, cut off the skin, then chop in half and squeeze. The juice yield is amazing!
