It’s important for me to eat a wide range of fruits and vegetables. Rather than thinking that oranges are good because they have vitamin C and carrots are good because they contain beta-carotene, I’m of the opinion that fruits and vegetables contain all kinds of vitamins, minerals and nutrients. So the more varied my fruit and vegetable consumption, the better my health will become.
Pomegranates for me aren’t an every day purchase. I enjoy them when I get them, particularly when mixed with orange juice. Admittedly, they are pretty fiddly to separate the seeds from the bitter pith. But I reckon this juice is worth it!
Ingredients (to make 800ml approx.)
- 12 clementines – or 6 oranges
- 3 pomegranates
- Peel the clementines
- Seed the pomegranates
- Juice the ingredients together
Juice Fiend Says
A quicker way to juice pomegranates is to use a manual citrus juicer. I’ve got one but hardly ever use it for citrus. I find it squeezes out some of the bitter oils from the skin into my juice. But they are really good for pomegranates.
