I try to use organic produce as much as I can afford. Organic apples at Tesco in the U.K. don’t cost too much more than conventional ones. But organic celery is at £1 is double the price of conventional produce. And you only get three organic lemons for £1.75! That starts to get expensive pretty quick!
This morning when I got up I had some coconut water from a carton. Yes, I know it was pasteurised. I much prefer getting a whole coconut so I can enjoy the meat as well. But it’s harder getting fresh coconuts in the U.K. than on my recent trip to Malaysia.
I made about 32 oz of juice for myself with a glass for my mother too.
- 1 1/2 lb organic carrots
- 4 organic apples
- 1 head of organic celery
- 1 organic lemon
- thumb of ginger
- Peel and chop the carrots
- Wash the apples and celery
- Chop the apples and celery
- Peel and chop the lemon
- Peel the ginger
- Juice all the ingredients together
- Sieve the juice
- Run a little water through the juicer to make up to desired amount

You can use the waste pulp to make raw crackers or use a low temperature in the oven if you don’t have a dehydrator.
