Apple, pineapple and ginger juice

After a little bit too much alcohol the night before my friend and I changed our morning gym session to the afternoon. Then back at my house I decided we needed a juice that would help flush the remaining hangover effects out our body. Pineapples seem to be really cheap where we live right now. I haven’t juiced much of it in the past but thought it would be worth a shot and it would give us a nice vitamin C boost. Mixing this with some apples would help produce a decent amount of juice. Finally as I don’t like things that are too sweet, some ginger helped us spice things up a bit.

Perhaps it was someting to do with our hungover state but this juice tasted really good. Sweet n’ tart with some ginger warmth.

Adding the ginger, then apples and finally pineapple seems to be the best order for this juice. I use a Magimix le Duo centrifugal juicer and the pineapple does a good job of blocking up the small holes where the juice is supposed to go through. So when I do the pineapple first I get less juice for the amount of fruit I use and the pulp remains wetter.

The amounts of fruit I used for this juice were:

  • 8 apples (small-ish)
  • 1/2 pineapple
  • big chunk of ginger

After our night of alcohol fiending this fruit juice was a great to help us feel human again.
