Chopping fruit and vegetables for juicing

Your style of juicer will to a large extent determine how you will need to cut up your fruit and vegetables so that they will fit. With my Magimix Le Duo juicer and other similar juicers like the Breville BJE200XL there is a funnel that you feed your ingredients into so all you really need to do is make sure that the pieces are small enough to be able to fit through.

Other juicers make use of a hopper from which the ingredients fall through to the juicing section. The thing to remember is that you don’t need to make use of quality paring knives or any fancy sort of knife. Obviously you can do if you have them available but it is not like you need to go out and buy an expensive knife to be able to make use of your juicer.

I just use a standard chopping knife as well as a bread knife for things like getting the skin off pineapples. So really the only thing you need to juice successfully is a juicer, some ingredients, your imagination and a knife that will let you chop it all up.
